AWARDED CASINOS

The 2026 winners, and what they tell a player

The 2026 ceremonies have mostly been held, and the winners in the categories that concern online casino players are few enough to list in one page.

A season watched from the beginning, for once

Most writing about casino awards reaches for a trophy from some earlier year and builds an argument around it. That is comfortable work, because the context has gone and nobody alive can check the room it was won in.

This page does the opposite and takes a single year, 2026, from the first ceremony to the ones still to come, on the theory that a season anybody can still watch is worth more than a decade nobody can.

The objection to that is fair and arrives first: one year proves nothing about a body that has run for twenty, and we agree, which is why the claim made here is a narrower one. A year read in full (every category of every edition, and not the ones with a familiar name in them) tells you how many results exist at all, who they went to, and how much of the record can still be opened from outside, which is the only part of an award a reader will ever be able to check.

What 2026 actually held

Across the eleven bodies we grade, twenty-one "editions" (one night of one series, in the trade's own word) were held, and we could date and place sixteen of them. Five regional SiGMA nights publish their winners without ever publishing when those nights happened, which is a small thing until somebody tries to cite one. Two bodies held nothing at all. Casinomeister ran no 2026 edition, and its "archive" (the pages where past winners stay readable) stops at 2025 after twenty-five consecutive years; the American Gambling Awards announced no programme for the year, and in any case admits only operators holding a licence in a United States jurisdiction, a condition no brand on this site meets.

Three ceremonies of this same year had not yet taken place when this page was written, and we would rather name them than let a reader assume the season is closed. The "shortlist" (the finalists, named weeks before the night) for one of them is already published, which means the result can be predicted by nobody and checked by everybody in about four weeks.

Still to come in 2026

The SiGMA World Awards on 2 November and SiGMA Italy on 5 November. The EGR Operator Awards on 24 November, at the Roundhouse in London, with the shortlist already published. Any badge dated 2026 that appears before those nights has come from somewhere else.

The two results in the whole year that touch this site

Videoslots won "Best Player Retention Strategy" at the SiGMA Europe Awards on 27 May 2026, at the Casino Maltese in Valletta, standing in a shortlist of six (this body prints its finalists, which is how we know who else was in the category) against HighBet, Novibet, CoolBet, BetHard and Unibet. The win belongs to the brand rather than to its owner, and two separate lines say so: the body prints the brand name itself (spelled "VideoSlots" on its page, which is the body's habit and not the operator's), and the company's own announcement the following day calls it "Immense Group's flagship brand", which settles a question that costs other pages their accuracy.

Then the part a reader should weigh, and it is not a criticism of the operator. A "retention" award (the category rewards keeping existing players playing, and the entry is a marketing submission describing how well that was done) is a prize for an achievement the player is on the receiving end of rather than the beneficiary of.

It is a real win at a documented body, it goes in the ledger exactly as it reads, and anybody treating it as a statement about how that casino handles a dispute has misread the heading!

888 Casino is the other, and it is a shortlisting rather than a win: "Premio performance operatore (powered by H2 Gambling Capital)", a category running for the first time at the EGR Italy Awards 2026 (a "new" category is worth noticing, because a badge carrying one cannot be compared with anything), standing with Betsson, Eurobet, Lottomatica and Sisal. That ceremony falls at the Rome Cavalieri on the day this page was written, so the entry in our ledger says shortlisted and will say nothing else until the body publishes a winner.

Nine bodies, and a number that is genuinely zero

For the other nine bodies in our set the count of results belonging to the brands on this site is zero, and for seven of them we reached that number the slow way, by opening the complete "winners list" (the body's own page, read category by category) rather than searching that page for a name, and the distinction matters a great deal more than the zero does. A search that finds nothing and a list read to the end look identical in any summary, and they are not the same evidence at all.

Zero is a finding here rather than an absence; it says something a ranking cannot. The great majority of casinos never enter, and in a season where twenty-one ceremonies handed out several hundred trophies, exactly two of them reached the forty-six brands (the whole of what this site is able to link to) a reader might actually play at!

Four claims from this year that do not survive a reading

Every season produces its own crop of badges that mean something other than what they appear to mean, and the 2026 crop is unusually instructive because three of the four involve a name rather than a fact.

"The Hippodrome Online Casino won casino of the year at the Global Gaming Awards EMEA 2026"
The 2026 "Casino OF THE YEAR" went to "The Hippodrome Casino", and the body's own page describes the category as "Recognising the land-based casino operator that has delivered an exceptional guest experience": the room in Leicester Square. On that same page Simon Thomas, executive chairman of The Hippodrome Casino, sits among the judges. The online site is a white label brand run by Betway Limited. Check it.
"Videoslots won the IGA Slots Operator of the Year 2026"
The 2026 "Slots Operator of the Year (Online)" went to Mr Vegas, a sister brand of the same company. Videoslots won that category in 2021 and in 2022, and in 2026 there is no IGA award to videoslots.com. Check it.
"Videoslots was shortlisted for employer of the year at the EGR Operator Awards 2026"
The shortlist carries "Immense Group", the parent company, and not the site; an employer category is not an award to the casino. The same shortlist puts Mr Vegas among the entries for "Marketing campaign of the year – B2C", and that is not videoslots.com either. Check it.
"Betway won the SBC Esports Operator of the Year 2026"
That category no longer exists in 2026. The thirty-nine categories of the edition hold one esports award, "Esports Supplier of the Year", won by Oddin.gg, which is a supplier category. Betway's run, from 2018 to 2023, closes with the category itself. Check it.

The first is the sharpest. The Global Gaming Awards EMEA 2026 named "The Hippodrome" casino of the year, and the "citation" (the few lines a body prints beside a winner, explaining the choice) itself says "land-based", which is the one word deciding the whole question. The chairman of that building sits among the judges of that series, and the online casino carrying the same name is run by a different company under a different licence. A badge copied across from one to the other changes the subject completely.

The last of the four is different in kind, and it is the quiet end of a long run. Betway's five SBC wins were all in "esports" betting (wagering on competitive video games, a field with nothing to do with casino play), and in 2026 that category no longer exists at that body. The run did not stop because the brand stopped winning: the category stopped being offered, which is the sort of thing a trophy count can never show you.

What we could not read, and why we print that too

One winners list defeated us completely. AskGamblers held its ninth awards on 11 June 2026 at the St Regis in Belgrade. Its results page replaces every casino name with "Restricted in your country" before the page is even sent, leaving no name, no link and nothing in the source to read. The body's own announcement and its own forum then contradict each other on one category, so we publish neither, and the ten finalists remain unestablished.

Two more came close. The SBC 2026 winners are set as logos rather than as text, so the only list in words is the organiser's press release (a weaker source than the body's own page, and the reason those results sit a level lower in our ledgers), and the 2026 EMEA shortlist of the Global Gaming Awards appears in a magazine that no page of the body links to.

How to read a badge dated 2026, when one reaches you

You will meet these results on other pages before the year ends, and three questions dispose of almost all of them.

Take them in order, because the first one does most of the work. Which body and which series, since four of the names above run several series a year and a result from one never appears on the page of another; which exact "category heading" (the words the body printed, not the words the badge paraphrases), because "online" and "land-based" sit inside otherwise identical wording; and whether the "recipient line" (the name as the body wrote it, on the body's own page) gives the casino, the group standing above it, or a sister brand on the same licence.

Anybody holding those three questions can check a 2026 badge faster than the page carrying it can explain itself, and in November there will be a fresh set to practise on. That is the whole of the method, and it does not need us.

Questions

Did any casino on this site win something in 2026?

Not in the categories that concern a casino player. The brands we list hold awards from earlier years, and 2026 went to operators we do not cover; saying otherwise would be the easiest lie on this site to tell and the easiest to check.

Why are there so few casino categories at these ceremonies?

Because most categories at an industry awards night are for suppliers, affiliates, marketing teams and individuals rather than for the casinos a player can join. On a thirty-nine category night, the ones a player could act on are a handful.
