The SBC Summit, and the night that follows it
Thirty-nine categories are announced on the last evening of this conference, and the number of them that concern a casino player can be counted on one hand.

A conference, and the dinner that closes it
The shape of the event explains the shape of its award list, which is the useful thing to understand about it: a conference serving every corner of the industry for three days ends in an arena, and an arena has to be filled with categories as well as with people on the night it is hired.
The objection is that thirty-nine titles in one evening (thirty-nine of them in 2026) makes a programme rather than a competition, and that is close to our own reading of it. It is not an argument for ignoring the results you meet on a badge, because several of them are the best documented facts that we hold about any brand.
Where it is held, and when
The SBC Summit took Lisbon from 29 September to 1 October 2026, with the conference at the Feira Internacional de Lisboa and the ceremony in the MEO Arena (the talking in one building, the dinner in another), which is a short walk and an entirely different kind of event. The awards are given on the last day of the "summit", which in 2026 meant 1 October, and the whole event moves earlier next year (21 to 23 September 2027).
Three series carry much the same name (the SBC Awards, an "Americas" edition and a "Europe" edition), so a badge from this body needs its region as well as its year before anybody can look it up, and the region is the part that most badges leave out. One series has vanished into another: the CasinoBeats Game Developer Awards no longer exist under their own name, having been folded into SBC Awards Europe, and a search for an old "Game Developer" badge now lands nowhere.
How the winners are chosen
The body lists its judges by name, which is more than the rest of this field manages, and it is the only one of the eleven to publish the names without publishing a rule about conflicts, so a reader can see who voted and cannot see what kept them from voting for an employer. No accountancy firm checks the count (no "adjudicator" is named anywhere on the pages we read), and the finalists are printed before the night.
What is not published is the "scoring". The body states as much plainly; its "entry terms" are not declared either, which leaves a reader with named judges, a printed field and no way of telling how either becomes a winner.
The archive is the other weak point, because it exists by edition and partly inside articles. We read the 2026 "winners list" on the group's news site (2 October 2026, the day after the dinner), which is convenient enough today and is exactly how a 2019 result ends up being hunted through a news feed seven years later, once the article has slipped out of sight.
Thirty-nine categories, and the few that touch a casino
A list that long reaches payments, platforms, affiliates, media and individuals; the operator titles are a minority inside it (a minority on any reading of the night). What follows for a reader is that most of what is announced from that stage has no bearing on where anybody plays, however loudly it is reported the following morning, and that holds for the programme as a whole rather than for one edition of it.
Our own records from this body bear that out, since they are dominated by one specialism. Betway took "Esports Bookmaker of the Year" in 2018 and then "Esports Operator of the Year" in each of 2019, 2021, 2022 and 2023, and was "shortlisted" in 2020, when the category went elsewhere (1xBet took it), with the last three of those wins (2021, 2022 and 2023) going to the group rather than to the brand that the badge names.
Five wins in six years, in a category that has nothing to do with a casino!
The 2019 evening shows the other half of the problem in one line. Videoslots collected a "mention" in "Casino Operator of the Year" that night, while the award headed "Leader of the Year (Casino)" went to the company's chief executive (a person, and not a site), so the strongest result of that evening belongs to somebody who could leave the company tomorrow, which is the kind of detail a badge never carries.
What the evening is worth to a reader
On our six tests this body passes two and a half: the field is printed, the judges are named, and the archive half works. It fails the auditor, the scoring and the entry terms, which means a result from here is verifiable as a fact and unauditable as a judgement.
That is a real distinction and not a hedge. Betway did win those five categories, the trade press and the body agree on them, and nothing in our reading suggests otherwise; what cannot be rebuilt from outside is why the judges preferred one entrant to the other four, and you will not find that on the page.
So the practical rule for a badge from this ceremony is to date it and then place it. Open the page the body keeps for that edition, check whether the category belongs to the casino side of the list at all, and read the winner's name against the group and the brand before you repeat it anywhere, since this body has given awards to both and to the people who run them.

Questions
Why so many categories?
Because the ceremony serves the whole industry, from payment providers to affiliate managers, and because a longer list sells more tables. The consequence for a reader is that most of what is announced has nothing to do with playing anywhere.
