Grand Mondial: the jackpot, and the record it is not
This brand paid one of the largest jackpots in the history of online casinos, and the sentence most often written about it afterwards is wrong.

The largest figure on this site, and the record it is not
The biggest number anywhere on this site belongs to a brand that has never won an award of any kind, which is an awkward fact for a project organised around awards (and an entirely ordinary one for the brand itself). The sentence most often written about that number is also false, and correcting it takes three dates, three operators and about four minutes of your time (four, with the register open in a tab).
A reader will say that paying nineteen million euros beats any trophy handed across a table (and whoever says so has a point). It is worth something, and it is not an award.
The payout, with the detail that makes it checkable
We have found no award for this brand on any winners list we were able to read, and no award claim for it that names a body, a category and a year. That is a statement about the public record, and not a judgement on the operator.
In September 2018 this brand paid 18,915,872.81 euros on a "progressive jackpot" (a prize pooled across many casinos until somebody takes it), and the circumstances are the part that we would keep: the winning spin came from an Android handset, the stake was 75 cents, and the date was Friday the twenty-eighth. Those details (a device, a stake, a dated Friday) are what separate a payout from a press release, because every one of them is the kind of thing a network operator has to record and a marketing department would never think to invent.
What the payout demonstrates is narrow and real, since a very large liability was met in full and on time; what it demonstrates about the things a player actually worries over (how a withdrawal is processed, how a dispute ends, what the terms say about a "dormant account") is nothing whatever.
The world record this brand does not hold
The claim in circulation is that the 2018 payout holds a "Guinness World Record", and the register that is being invoked (a public page, with one entry per category) says otherwise in plain words. The entry for "largest jackpot payout in an online slot machine game" still names a win of 17,879,645 euros dated 6 October 2015, and that one was paid by a different operator that sits inside a different group.
The confusion has an origin rather than a villain, which is worth saying before anybody reaches for the word lie. In 2018 several trade reports wrote that the record would be updated to the new figure; the official page was never changed, so the 2015 win remains the "homologated" one and the 2018 payout, larger though it is, holds no record whatever.
A second number is folded into the same claim and belongs separated from it. The all-time high for that jackpot network is 19,430,723.60 euros, which was paid in April 2021, and the casino that paid it was Napoleon in Belgium (a company with no connection to this group, on a licence of its own).
So three figures are routinely compressed into one boast, and only the middle one belongs on this page. The 2015 win holds the "record", the 2021 win is the largest the network has ever produced, and the 2018 win is this brand's own and is neither of the other two!
The group, and the awards it has not won
The licence sits with Apollo Entertainment Ltd, which operates inside Casino Rewards, a "group" of sixteen brands that share one platform and one loyalty scheme between them. We searched every awarding body on this site for the group and for all sixteen names (sixteen, one at a time) and found nothing at all, and the group's own anniversary announcement of 16 October 2025 claims no award either.
Two further claims came off before publication, and both are the kind that spread because they are never checked. An eCOGRA certification appears in our own working register for these brands and is "certified" by nobody we could reach (no statement from the certifier, none from the operator); and describing an Ontario registration as a "recognition" is a category error, because such an entry grants permission to trade and nothing further.
The company, the licences and the dates
Supervision comes from Malta's gaming authority together with the Kahnawake commission, and Ontario is handled from a provincial address kept separate from this one, while the brand itself dates from 2005, which puts the 2018 payout thirteen years into its working life rather than anywhere near the start of it.
The highest score on the site, and what it measures
This is the highest portal figure on any page we have written, and the reason that it is high turns out to be more interesting than the figure itself. Nine point five is the "Safety Index" figure we found at Casino Guru on the twentieth of October 2026, which that portal files at the top of its scale under "Very high", over a complaint file of fifteen.
Read across the group, though, that number starts to look less like a verdict on this particular address. Fourteen of its "sibling" brands sit at nine point three on the same scale (nine point three, every one of them), which suggests the figure is largely measuring one platform, one rulebook and one "complaints desk" held in common, rather than anything peculiar to this address.
One absence belongs in the same paragraph as the score. There is no Trustpilot figure in this review, because no card for the brand opened for us under either domain we tried, and nine point five with no second opinion beside it is one reading taken on one day.
Enforcement: what the two registers carry
There is no British licence here (and therefore no British register to search), while the two registers that do govern the operator showed no "regulatory action" against it. That describes a pair of lists on a single date, and it is not a clean bill of health.
The look-up that settles it in four minutes
The habit worth taking away from this page applies to any "world record" claim, and those are among the most repeated and least examined sentences in this business. Open the register that is being invoked, read the entry for the category that is actually named, and compare the figure, the date and the operator printed there against the three in front of you (three figures, three dates, three companies).
Do that here and the arithmetic is unambiguous, because the 2018 payout is real, enormous, and attached to no record, no certification and no award. What this brand holds is one very large cheque and one very high complaint score, and you are entitled to weigh both of them without an adjective that stands in the way.

Questions
Who holds the Guinness record, then?
A player at a different casino, for a win of seventeen point nine million euros in October 2015. The register still names that win, and no later payout has replaced it, because nobody applied.
